‘Kardashian Klan’: Kim, Khloe And Kourtney’s PR Blunder

THE KARDASHIANS

Trust us when we say there is nothing we love more than alliteration when it comes to the Kardashians, but someone really didn’t think this one through.

The New York Observer points out a rather worrisome press release that is making its rounds, promoting the sisters’ new clothing line for Sears — the Kardashian Kollection.

Alliteration is great, but someone in the Kardashian camp doesn’t know when to cool it with the “K’s,” and referred to Kim, Khloe and Kourtney as the “Kardashian Klan.”

As The Observer notes, that spelling of “klan” is only associated with one thing, “And it doesn’t help that their primary initials amount to three consecutive K’s.”

Clearly this was an oversight, but perhaps it will teach the Kardashians they shouldn’t be so creative when it comes to spelling.

Hollywood Walk Of Fame Bans Reality Stars

The Kardashians

Though the TV networks are getting rich off of its low budget and high revenue margins, the creatives in Tinseltown still, it seems, refuse to accept reality television as a true contributor to the long-lasting artistic and sociological legacy of entertainment and pop culture.

So, sorry Kim Kardashian: your wedding may be the stuff of celebrity royalty, but you still ain’t getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

In a recent posting on the Walk of Fame’s Facebook page, Ana Martinez, Vice President for Media Relations and Producer for the Hollywood Walk of Fame wrote, “Someone asked if we give reality show characters stars? Hell to the No!”

Later, she told CNN that the Walk of Fame’s criteria included: “longevity in their field of entertainment, awards and other honors, and philanthropic work.”

This year, Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Lopez and Kate Winslet lead the list of new inductees.

Of course, they’re somewhat flexible about their admissions policy; Mickey Mouse, Kermit the Frog and Big Bird all have stars, which is appropriate given their impact, but a bit iffy given their fictional existence. There are also stars in place for Magic Johnson — for his movie theater chain, apparently (certainly not his late night talk show), though his prominence in LA as the Lakers’ longtime star probably didn’t hurt, either. Perhaps because they’ve flown amongst the stars (and their moon landing was an iconic part of TV history), the Apollo 11 astronauts have stars, too.

Snooki and co. can be comforted by some of the other celebs who don’t have stars; one can only imagine the commiseration that would go down between the little Guidette and Julia Roberts, who famously declined to have her name on the walk.

Meanwhile, honorees David Hasselhoff and Pat Sajak laugh at it all.

Kim Kardashian Invites Ellen DeGeneres To Wedding After She Reportedly Cut 50 People From Her Invite List

Kim Kardashian

If you’re an A-list celebrity who didn’t get invited to Kim Kardashian’s wedding on Saturday August 20th, all hope is not lost — a little tweeting could go a long way.

That’s what Ellen DeGeneres did. The talk show host, who just celebrated her third wedding anniversary with actress Portia de Rossi, tweeted yesterday:

“No invitation to @KimKardashian’s wedding yet. #WorstThingInTheWorld.”

But don’t fret Ellen, Kim saw your tweet and responded:

The last minute invitation seems a little strange, given that it has been reported that Kim had to cut nearly 50 guests from her invite list.

The New York Post reports that the bride-to-be actually disinvited some of her stepfather Bruce Jenner’s extended family and has instituted a strict, “no-plus-one” policy.

Perhaps that policy doesn’t apply to celebrities who could continue to help her career.

Kim is set to marry NBA player Kris Humphries tomorrow at the Sotto Il Monte estate in Montecito, California and the guest list is said to include stars like Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber, Venus and Serena Williams, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, Nicole Richie, Kelly Osbourne, Ryan Seacrest, Kathy Lee Gifford, Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, Maria Menounos, and Mark Ballas.

Did Kim really cut her 50 people from her wedding, including some extended family members? According to The New York Post, her reps said “no comment.”

Kim Kardashian’s Wedding Venue Revealed

Kris Humphries & Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian’s wedding is rapidly approaching and as the big day gets closer, more and more details are being revealed.

We already know Kim has chosen a dress by designer Vera Wang, confirming Wang was creating her dress via her blog in early August, but speculation began long before. The pair were spotted leaving the Vera Wang Bridal Studio in New York City together back in June.

Kim’s wedding guests have been given strict instructions about what to wear on the big day and there are to be no exceptions. According to Kathie Lee Gifford, who is attending the wedding, black and white are their only options.

Some more requirements for wedding attendees? They must follow the very tight security restrictions. They will have to go through metal detectors upon arrival, and hand over their cell phones immediately. Looks like there won’t be any tweets about the wedding unless it comes from Kim herself.

But what is the latest detail to be released about Saturday’s nuptials? The venue! On Wednesday, X17Online revealed Kim and fiance Kris Humphries will exchange vows at the Sotto Il Monte estate in Montecito, California.

A photographer for X17Online snapped photos of the mansion, making note of how secure the sprawling grounds are going to be for the big day, saying, “There are NO holes in the perimeter of this property – it’s already on lock-down.”

Kim Kardashian Wedding Guests Given Strict Dress Code

Kim Kardashian

My pal, Kathie Lee Gifford let it slip that she will be attending Kim Kardashian’s wedding this Saturday. But the generous invite came with some pretty strict instructions — guests have been told to wear black or white, with no exception. The strict requirement furthers the speculation that Kardashian will not be saying ‘I Do’ in a similarly white gown.

“Kim knows better than anyone how to stay dramatic and there is no way she would let herself blend in with everyone else at her wedding by wearing a white dress,” an insider tells me. “If I know her, I bet she will wear red or some color so she pops against everyone else who will be in black or white.”

We know Kardashian has already chosen a gown by designer Vera Wang — she was in New York just last weekend for a final fitting — but any other details of her dress have been guarded almost as closely as Kate Middleton’s sartorial secret.

“When Kim walks down that aisle, she knows she will have the eyes of the world on her,” a friend of the family tells me. “This will be the biggest moment of her life and she is going to make sure she gives everyone something to talk about. Nothing would do that more than shocking folks with a splash of color.”

Gifford snagged an invite to the Kardashian blowout from one of her best girlfriends, Kim’s mom, Kris Jenner. Tune in Monday to the “Today” show when chatty Kathie Lee will be back from the big day.

Twitter MVPs: Pop Princesses Top Klout’s ‘Most Influential Actresses’ List

Pop Princesses

Forbes ranks the highest paid actors and PEOPLE has its “Most Beautiful” issue, but lately the lists with the most gravitas in Hollywood tell us who has the most influence online.

Is it the big players like Angelina, Reese, Julia? Not one bit. Those ladies are too busy counting their cash and well, working, to tweet. It shouldn’t come as a surprise that young Hollywood, particularly Disney’s pop princesses are by far the most popular actresses on the Internet.

This week Klout.com released its list of the top 10 actresses ranked by their Klout score, which is a measure of how much people pay attention to someone online. The popularity poll tells us that the top five most influential actresses in social media are none other than Demi Lovato (Klout Score: 94), Selena Gomez (92), Ariana Grande (90), Miley Cyrus (89) and Bella Thorne (87).

Average age of these influential tweeters? Seventeen.

This means these five young women have the most influence over their networks — meaning they tell them what to watch, what to listen to and what to buy.

So what exactly is a Klout score? The Klout weighs 25 variables, including the size of the social sphere — such as the number of followers — and the number of engaged followers and friends versus the number of spambots and dead accounts, to determine how much online influence a person has. Re-tweets and mentions are also taken into account, so it isn’t just how cool you are, but how cool your network is perceived to be. It is lunchroom politics boiled down to an algorithm.

There area few noticeable tweeters missing from Klout’s list, but just note that the three Kardashian sisters were excluded from the list because, well, they don’t act.

Klout may tell us who gets followers to do things, but there is another social media measurement that tells us who directly gets us to buy things. We had the folks over at Ad.ly, the company that pays celebrities to tweet on behalf of brands, compile a second list of their paid Tweeters to help us firgure out who is influential when it comes to getting consumers to click on things online.

Who is Ad.ly’s biggest actress influencer? This one’s a shocker.

Lindsay Lohan.

Her branded tweets are clicked on 3.5 times more than the average celebrity in the Ad.ly network.

“While we don’t disclose specifically what that Ad.ly celebrity average is, it is in the thousands. Lindsay is up there in the Mt. Rushmore of actresses on Twitter,” Ad.ly VP of Marketing Krista Thomas told The Huffington Post.

Lohan might not be able to sell a movie too easily these days, but she can get you to buys things she is paid to plug on Twitter.

Other top Ad.ly celebs? They might surprise you.

Though she’s been off the radar for awhile, Eliza Dushku’s tweets are clicked on 2.6 times the average and former “90210” star Tori Spelling’s tweets are clicked 2.5 times the average. Add the Kardashians into this mix and they are clicked on 3.4, 3.3 and 2.4 (Kim, Kourtney and Khloe, respectively) times the average Ad.ly celebrity.

It certainly doesn’t look like the celebrity Twitter phase will go away anytime soon, but that doesn’t mean every actress, reality star or singer has something important to say. Check out the slideshow below to see some of Twitter’s worst celebrity tweeters.

Kim Kardashian Diagnosed With Psoriasis

Kim Kardashian

On last night’s episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” Kim Kardashian is concerned when a rash develops on her legs just before she’s set to shoot a commercial. After all, how is she supposed to walk down the aisle with blotchy, scaly skin?

So Kardashian heads to the dermatologist–after her sister Khloe tells her it’s ringworm–where her doctor diagnoses her with psoriasis, a hereditary skin condition that her mother, Kris Jenner, has as well.

“I’d heard of it before because my mom has always had it, but she didn’t have red flaky dots all over her,” Kardashian, 30, told Life and Style Weekly, regarding the skin condition.

When her dermatologist tells her lifestyle, stress, travel and food are among the things that can exacerbate the problem, Kim worries about the impact it will have on her career. And not to mention, planning a wedding in less than three months can be pretty stressful.

“When I gain a pound, it’s in the headlines, so imagine what the tabloids will do to me when they see all these spots,” the magazine quoted her as saying.

But Kardashian isn’t the only celeb with the flaky skin condition. LeAnn Rimes has been very public about her battle with psoriasis. “What Not to Wear” host Stacy London has also admitted to suffering from psoriasis, using humor to hide her discomfort. However, the biggest psoriasis success story is that of “America’s Next Top Model Winner,” CariDee English. During her worst outbreak, seventy percent of her body was covered in red plaques.

Luckily for Kardashian and the millions of Americans suffering from the condition, psoriasis can be treatable and manageable with treatments ranging from creams to pills to skin injections.

Kim Kardashian Laughs Off Paris Hilton’s ABC Interview Showdown

KIM KARDASHIAN

A visually upset Paris Hilton abruptly got up and walked out of an interview after ABC reporter, Dan Harris, asked the 30-year-old hotel heiress if it bothered her that ex-friend, Kim Kardashian was now a bigger star than has-been Paris. However, friends of Kardashian tell me she laughed when she found out how her former bestie had acted when her name came up.

“Kim never mentions Paris’s name,” a friend of Kardashian’s tells me. “She doesn’t talk about her or even think about her, which is pretty much the same as everyone else in America.”

Ouch.

“Do you feel as if people like Kim Kardashian are overshadowing you?” Dan asked. “No, not at all,” Hilton responded in the interview.

But when the Harris pushed as to whether Hilton’s time in the spotlight had passed, a shocked Hilton turned to her publicist and then got up and walked out of the interview — but forgot her microphone was still hot. “Well, I don’t want all this being used,” she snapped at her publicist

Hilton’s latest go at maintaining a very public image is another turn at reality TV in “The World According to Paris” — which has been a ratings disaster averaging fewer than 400,000 viewers.

Although Kardashian may now overshadow Hilton’s fame, queen Kim was once employed by the heiress, working as her stylist.

“Paris is so jealous,” Kim’s best friend and “The Spin Crowd” star, Jonathan Cheban told me when he stopped by my new HDNet show, “Naughty But Nice With Rob.” “Forget Paris, Kim is now bigger than movie stars. Paris who?”

Kardashian’s other BFF, Brittny Gastineau was similarly shocked by Hilton’s Kardashian-fueled temper tantrum.

“I think it’s really sad that she can’t be happy for [a] one-time friend and doesn’t realize what goes around comes around,” Gastineau said. “You have to realize there is enough success to go around for everyone. U don’t have to walk off like a child.”

Simmer down, there’s more than enough fame to go around ladies!

Khloe & Lamar Devastated After Car Crash Victim Dies

Khloé Kardashian & Lamar Odom

A “devastated” Lamar Odom and Khloé Kardashian have taken to social media to express their sympathy following a horrific car crash that claimed life of a 15-year-old boy.

Odom, in New York for a cousin’s funeral, was the passenger in the backseat last Thursday when a collision occurred in Jamaica, Queens. The car he was riding in struck a motorcycle, which then hit the teen, who was a pedestrian.

Though rushed to a hospital for surgery, the boy, whose name has not been reported, died Monday, according to New York’s Daily News.

Odom, 31, Tweeted: “Thank you for your support and prayers! My thoughts and prayers are with the young boys family.”

His wife, Kardashian, 27, added on her Twitter page: “My heart/soul goes out 2every1 in pain from any suffering. Pray 4 all of the angels surrounding us constantly. May our spirits stay strong.

“Above all, love each other deeply, b/c love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality 2 1another without grumbling 1 Peter 4:8-9

“Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

“Our love will give us strength! Love conquers ALL!”

Not that every message was sweetness and light. Following some criticism of her on the site, Kardashian wrote: “Stop judging other people’s lives that u know NOTHING about! My husband&I r in NY 4a funeral 4 his fam. Senseless violence is disgusting!!”
