2011 VMA Preview

You already know who’s been nominated for the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards, but there’s much more happening on the evening of Sunday, Aug. 28. The star-studded night is sure to be one to remember, if history repeats itself.

This year’s VMA pre-show and black carpet will be hosted by Disney-darling-turned-pop-princess Selena Gomez, and will feature a live performance by Cobra Starship. Viewers will also get a preview look the new Nicki Minaj video ‘Fly’ featuring Rihanna. As confirmed and teased, the VMAs show itself will be opened by none other than Lady Gaga, the multi-VMA-nominated Mother Monster herself. Additional live performances by Chris Brown, Adele and Lil Wayne are sure to rock the stage, and with so many rumors swirling around the planned Britney Spears medley tribute, who knows which pop giants will surprise us?
